NATG2017 Day 30: Back to Business

Description

And so ended my second NATG. As it turned out, I drew Applejack the most this time around (Follow very closely by Pinkie Pie, Twilight, and Queen Chrysalis). I'm surprise that I didn't draw as many Rainbow Dash and Rarity because I actually drew them the most last NATG. @_@

I actually learnt a lot more than I thought I would this time around, but I guess it does helped that I'm getting better with using reference materials and certain techniques.

This drawing here does showcase some of the things I learnt as well as some of the things I could improve on though. I got a better understanding of various tools and subjects (Water colour, eyes, hats, proportion, perspectives, and many others), but at the same time, there are certainly just as many area that I need to do research on and get a better understanding of (Pegasus Wings, shading, lighting, clothing, and curly mane come to mind).

That being said, sorry I haven’t been as active on DA until the NATG started up again. Don’t get the wrong idea though, drawing has pretty much been a part of my life ever since the NATG in 2016. I’ve been busy with honing my skills, and the drawings I made in the process weren’t particularly interesting to look at. Moreover, I certainly have the time to draw as the only thing I have to worry about nowadays seems to be my accounting job. While that does take up a large amount of time, it’s still the only thing I have to worry about. I’ve been done with school for about a year or two now, and the people I care about are either in a different province in Canada or in a different country (US, Australia, and Thailand), so I don't have as many distraction here.  I really do wish I had started drawing sooner, but it’s all right, I’m just happy I even discovered my love for drawing in the first place.

Last but not least, thank you all of you for all the support you've shown me! My venture into the art world would have been a lot more lonely otherwise. ^^ It's unfortunate that Summer is almost over and that most of you will be back to school pretty soon... I've been meaning to get to know some of you better, but it's still okay though because I'm sure I'll still see all of you around. =P

Ayyy, Applejack still needs her classic cowboy hat, even when she's got the graduation one~
I'm really liking the depth you put into this one, you did a great job giving it that 3D look. The motion of Applejack throwing her hat works really well in this picture too. And the curves on the hat look really good here, it's very well done :^)
Her expression is really lovable too, she looks so happy to be graduating!
Overall a very nice and fitting picture to end off ATG with-- awesome work ^^

Oo, a switch up on the pony drawing trends-- that's interesting actually~
It's great to hear that you've learned a lot through ATG! The event is certainly a ton of help for that, and I'm glad it gave you the opportunity to get even better. It's also good that you have a firmer understanding of the aspects that you're comfortable with and the parts that you need more work on.

It makes me happy that you've found a desire to make art and consistently try to improve yourself at it. Even if you're not posting everything on your DA, it's good to know that you're working to get better on your own. I know that you're just going to keep getting better and better as time progresses, and I'm excited to see what direction you're headed next :^)

Thanks so much for all the support and concern you showed to me and other people as well! It was great to interact with you throughout this event-- it's always a pleasure to read the positive comments you have for my stuff, and it was also a lot of fun to see all of the unique ideas and drawings that you put out! You did a fantastic job keeping up with the days and you always had something fresh and new for each prompt-- it was really nice to see.
So congratulations on doing such a great job on ATG, and I'm looking forward to whatever you plan on making next!
